This seminar aims to explore the complex relationships between poverty dynamics, land vulnerability and water security in fragile environments in Ethiopia and Kenya.

This seminar aims to explore the complex relationships between poverty dynamics, land vulnerability and water security in fragile environments in Ethiopia and Kenya. The speakers will present and review the success of different approaches, combining natural science, social science and gender perspectives, to support the rehabilitation of degraded landscapes and improve access to water for WASH, agriculture and other productive uses. Speaker presentations will be followed by a discussion on the replicability and scalability of these approaches, and on the role of the public and private sectors in supporting the sustainable uptake of these activities.
