Kidist is a PhD researcher at the School of Earth Sciences, Addis Ababa University. She is conducting her research under REACH program: improving water security for the poor with the water quality Ethiopian team at WLRC. She has experience in mapping surface water and groundwater interaction using Radon-222, analysis of stable isotopes, water quality assessment, and groundwater potential assessment and water supply wells supervision. She is an active member of professional associations including international Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH), Ethiopian Association of Hydrogeologist (EAH), Ethiopian Geosciences & Mineral Engineering Association (EGMEA) and American Geophysical Union (AGU). She is interested in water quality management work for sustainable water supply in Ethiopia.
