Dr. Matin is a Professor of Hydrogeology at the Department of Geology, University of Dhaka with research interests on arsenic, salinity and contaminations of groundwater; and has published over 250 journal papers and book chapters with more than 9000 citations. His current research projects include salinity management coastal aquifers using Managed Aquifer Recharge; arsenic hazards mitigation in different geological environments and impacts of over abstractions of groundwater due to influx of displaced Rohinga people in Cox’s Bazar district.
