Dr Cheryl R. Doss

Associate Professor in Development Economics

Cheryl Doss is a development economist who focuses on issues of intrahousehold resource allocation and decision-making, the gender asset and wealth gaps, and methods for collecting sex-disaggregated data for gender analysis, with a primary focus on Africa. She joined the Oxford Department of International Development in 2016, after 17 years at Yale University and is now Professor of Economics at Tufts University. She has an extensive publication record in journals in economics, international development, and agricultural economics.  She has also served in advisory and consulting capacities for UN Women, UN Statistics, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, FAO, the World Bank, among others.
